Franklin Hospice Announces Fourth Annual “Holes for Hospice” Golf Tournament

Franklin Hospice is proud to announce its Fourth Annual Holes for Hospice Golf Tournament, scheduled for Monday, May 18, 2026, at Waynesboro Country Club. Golfers of all skill levels are invited to participate in this meaningful community event. All funds raised through net proceeds and donations will directly support the compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care Franklin Hospice provides to patients and their loved ones in Franklin County. Proceeds will also benefit the organization’s individual and group grief support programs, which serve families throughout their bereavement journey.

“We at Franklin Hospice were overwhelmed last year by the incredible generosity of our sponsors and the golfers from across the community who came together to support our mission,” said Karen Giffin, Associate Chief Philanthropy and Marketing Officer. “This year’s tournament will allow us to grow the event and extend our reach to help even more individuals in Franklin County. It’s a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a day of golf while ensuring that family, friends, and neighbors have access to quality end-of-life care.”

A community-based, not-for-profit provider, Franklin Hospice began serving the area in 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. As an independent, Pennsylvania-licensed, mission-driven healthcare organization, Franklin Hospice has supported more than 350 Franklin County families through the challenges of serious illness and loss. Its dedicated team is committed to helping every individual live life to the fullest. Importantly, Franklin Hospice never turns away a patient due to inability to pay.

“Hospice is not about giving up—it’s about helping people reach their goals,” Giffin explained. “This includes managing pain and symptoms, as well as addressing psychosocial and spiritual needs, while also supporting families through the grieving process.”

Franklin Hospice goes beyond traditional care through initiatives like the My Wish Program, which fulfills patients’ end-of-life wishes, and the Benevolence Program, which helps cover essential needs and funeral expenses. The organization also provides Charity Care to uninsured or underinsured patients. In addition, Franklin Hospice offers free bereavement services to the entire community—not only to families of its

patients, but to anyone experiencing loss. This includes support for those grieving losses due to suicide, overdose, or accidental death. Counseling services are available for individuals of all ages, including children.

The Title Sponsor for this year’s event is WellSpan Health. A full list of sponsors can be found at https://franklinhospice.org/events/holes-hospice-golf-tournament.
